Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee:
The steering committee is comprised of 10-12 members that are appointed by the City. These members represent the local business community, citizens at large, City staff, City Council member(s), County and/or area stakeholders, and other various Commission members within the City. The role of the steering committee is to build consensus and support regarding the various topics, approaches, and policies outlined in the comprehensive plan project. The steering committee will work with the consultant, city staff, and other local leaders while engaging the public for input throughout the duration of the project. The steering committee will provide recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council on the drafting and adopting the Comprehensive Plan.

In essence, a Comprehensive Plan is a shared vision for the future, and a strategic road map to reach that vision. This is the City of Isle’s first ever Comprehensive Plan.  Provide your input by taking our survey!

PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE DRAFT ISLE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN – (August 21, 2019 THROUGH September 20, 2019) 

Isle, MN – The City of Isle is in the process of creating its Comprehensive Plan and is seeking community input to guide future planning efforts.

A comprehensive plan is an expression of a community’s vision for the future and a strategic map to reach that vision. Comprehensive planning is an important tool for cities to guide future development of land to ensure a safe, pleasant, and economical environment for residents to live work and play.

The Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee has sought to engage the community’s input throughout the planning process by providing information on the city’s website, conducting a community wide survey, and by hosting a public engagement opportunities.

The Steering Committee, Planning Commission and City Staff have worked hard to not only seek public input throughout this process but also to translate local community input into tangible goals and strategies that can be used by both city staff and elected officials to guide the community in the coming years. This public review and comment period is one more opportunity for members of the community to participate in the comprehensive plan update process.
